Integrating Breath
This is generally done between each movement, as a moment of pause, of ‘clearing the palate' before the next part of the practice. It is a reminder of the value of moments of rest between activities.
The Movement:
Begin with the hands over the belly, thumbs touching about at the navel, fingers overlapping, making an open diamond between the hands.
Inhale, straightening the arms so the diamond faces the ground, then scoop the arms out and up until they are above the head, the open diamond facing up if possible. Exhale, bringing the hands back to the belly. Bend the knees for a moment as the arms reach down, and straighten the knees for the rest of the movement.
